Case study 1 – Treating the type 2 diabetes patient to improve overall metabolic profile

This case study aims to:

• Provide an opportunity to implement evidence-based randomised clinical trial data and international guidelines to the treatment of their type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients at high cardiovascular risk
• Provide specialist views and experience of the modern treatment of these patients, given that in South Africa, these patients are frequently managed by primary healthcare practitioners.
