Managing LDL-cholesterol after an acute coronary event
Learning objectives
- The benefits of reaching the ESC recommended LDL-cholesterol (LDL-C) of less than 1.8mmol/ and post acute myocardial infarction.
- To understand the importance of taking lipid measurements early post-MI (within 24 hours), deciding which patients should get PCSK9- inhibitors, when and how this cholesterol-lowering agent should be administered
- To monitor LDL-cholesterol levels carefully post-MI and ensure that appropriate treatment is in place + the patients LDL cholesterol is desirable target levels
