Surviving the cold and flu season without antibiotics
Helping the clinician to select medications that can reduce troublesome symptoms of viral upper respiratory tract infections, so the prescription of antibiotics is avoided
You will learn:
- The inclinations of South African patients and clinicians regarding the use of antibiotics for the treatment of viral upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs)
- An approach to the assessment of URTI with the goals of identifying patients at particular risk of severe illness, distinguishing between the symptoms of common cold, influenza and COVID-19, and the use of symptom-directed medicines to avoid unnecessary prescription of antibiotics.
