Learning objectives

  • How to prepare and support a T2DM patient who wishes to recommence fasting, for the first time while on insulin therapy
  • To encourage patient participation and selection of the type of technology he/she would like to use to support control of type 2
    diabetes mellitus (T2DM)
  • To use the opportunity of intensifying treatment to provide additional support from the multidisciplinary team (dietitian and
    diabetes educator) and correct injection techniques, CGM or SMBG readings at appropriate time and dietetic advice.
