Learning objectives
You will learn to :
- Apply the experience of specialist endocrinologists on what aspects of patient consultation works when there is a need to introduce insulin and how to develop your own conversational approach with T2DM patients so that the need and positive value of insulin therapy is accepted
- Instruct patients on how to give the first doses of the selected insulin, building the patient’s confidence and providing continued guidance throughout this new dimension of their care
- To be alert to and to discuss the patient’s experience of side-effects which may emerge over time, such as hypoglycaemia and weight gain.
